
DoD FY25 Ovarian Cancer Investigator-Initiated Research Award
Funds high-impact ovarian cancer research—from basic laboratory studies through translational projects (excluding clinical trials)—that address critical gaps in understanding, detection, treatment, survivorship, or precision medicine, with strong preliminary data required.
Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant Organizations: Extramural or intramural U.S. or foreign academic institutions, biotechnology companies, foundations, DOD laboratories, and other public or private entities (for-profit and non-profit) .

Principal Investigator: Must hold an appointment at or above the level of Assistant Professor (or equivalent) by award activation. A Partnering PI option permits two co-PIs, each receiving a separate award.

Research Scope: Projects may focus on one or more FY25 OCRP Areas of Emphasis—basic biology, novel therapeutics, prevention, early detection/diagnosis/prognosis, survivorship/quality of life, or precision medicine—but must exclude clinical trials.

Human/Animal Subjects: Observational clinical research and animal studies are permitted (with appropriate approvals); interventional clinical trials are not supported.

Cost Sharing: Not required; indirect costs budgeted per negotiated institutional rate.

Single PI: $1.05 M total costs over up to 4 years

Partnering PIs: $1.40 M combined total costs over up to 4 years

Allowable Costs: Direct and indirect costs, including personnel, supplies, equipment, travel for multi-institutional collaboration and one scientific meeting per year, and data/resource sharing activities.

Exclusions: Tuition, clinical trial costs.
