
LUNGevity Career Development Award
The LUNGevity Career Development Award supports translational lung cancer research with a clear focus on early detection or individualized treatment approaches, including targeted therapy and immunotherapy. This mentored award is designed to foster the next generation of lung cancer research leaders by providing financial and professional support for three years. Research must include human specimens and demonstrate translational relevance.
Eligibility:

Must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, etc.)

Must be within the first 5 years of first faculty appointment (appointment must begin no earlier than Fall 2020)

Must have completed a postdoctoral fellowship
-
Must be an independent, self-directed researcher at a U.S. institution

Must not hold concurrent major funding (e.g., NIH R01, K awards, DOD awards, etc.)

Must be a U.S. citizen or hold eligible visa status (Green Card, J-1, H-1B, O-1, etc.)
Funding:
-
Up to USD 100,000 per year for 3 years (total: USD 300,000)

Maximum 60% of annual budget may be used for PI salary/fringe
-
Max 30% of total award may be used for equipment
-
Max 10% of total award may be used for indirect costs
-
Travel allowance: up to USD 1,500/year for non-LUNGevity meetings
-
Up to USD 2,500 allowed for publication costs
-
Attendance required at the annual LUNGevity Fall Science Meeting
