“Across Iraq, radiotherapy professionals came together to celebrate World Radiotherapy Awareness Day 2026, demonstrating the power of teamwork and a shared commitment to raising awareness of radiotherapy.
Led by Awf Sulaiman, WRAD Regional Champion for Iraq and ASTRO International Ambassador, eight centres organized coordinated celebrations, bringing together radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists and administrative teams.
From shared awareness materials to celebrations captured and shared on social media, the initiative connected radiotherapy communities across Iraq and helped spread the WRAD message even further.
