“Over the weekend, we launched the inaugural ESMO-DukeNUS-NCCS Asia Medical Oncology Workshop for Medical Student.
It was a privilege to be able to coordinate this workshop under the leadership of our amazing course directors – Professors Andres Cervantes and Rebecca Dent, and for the opportunity from Soon Thye LIM, Ravindran Kanesvaran, and Scott Compton.
A heartfelt thank you to the faculty of the ESMO–Duke-NUS–NCCS workshop who gave so generously of their time, experience and wisdom.
What struck me most was the generosity of the faculty. Faculty stayed behind to answer questions, challenged participants to think differently, listened to the realities of cancer care across very different health systems, and created space for genuine exchange between colleagues from across the region.
Capacity building is ultimately about people investing in people.
