Don Dizon is a medical oncologist specializing in gynecologic cancers, with a focus on ovarian, uterine, and cervical malignancies. He serves as Director of the Pelvic Malignancies Program at Lifespan Cancer Institute, Director of Medical Oncology at Rhode Island Hospital, and Head of Community Outreach and Engagement at the Legorreta Cancer Center.
He is Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Professional Integrity at the SWOG Cancer Research Network, where he works to advance equitable cancer research and professional standards across oncology. He is also a founding member of the Collaboration for Outcomes using Social Media in Oncology, reflecting his leadership in the responsible, impactful use of digital platforms in cancer care and advocacy.
His research and clinical interests extend beyond therapeutics to include cancer survivorship, particularly the impact of cancer and its treatment on sexual health and quality of life, as well as communication in oncology. Dr. Dizon is a prominent advocate for sexual and gender minority (SGM) communities, integrating inclusivity, patient-centered care, and equity into both clinical practice and research. He is the Editor-in-Chief of CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians and is an active influencing voice for the oncology community on social media.
