“Chance Osborne, marketing manager on our oncology patient engagement team and triple negative breast cancer survivor, recently shared her story with USA TODAY, including how she uses Signatera every three months to monitor her health in survivorship.
Thank you, Chance, for your openness and for inspiring others this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
A USA Today story published on October 3, 2026, features Chance Osborne, who discovered a breast cancer lump just two weeks after receiving a clear MRI in 2021. Despite regular screening due to her BRCA1 gene mutation and family history, she was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, a fast-growing subtype. Her treatment included chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, a double mastectomy, and a hysterectomy. Now five years cancer-free, Osborne undergoes circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) testing every three months to monitor for recurrence. Her experience highlights the limitations of screening, the importance of genetic risk awareness, and the need to pay attention to changes even after reassuring test results.
