“I am delighted to share some exciting news!
Effective today, Will Parsons has been appointed Chief of the Division of Hematology–Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and Director of the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center.
A nearly two-decade member of the Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital Children’s Hospital community, Dr. Parsons is a tenured Professor of Pediatrics and holds the Beverly and Daniel C. Arnold Endowed Chair for Precision Medicine. He has served in numerous impactful leadership roles across the department, division, and cancer center Including Deputy Director of the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center, Director of the Center for Precision Oncology, and Director of the Pediatrician-Scientist Pediatric Residency Program to name a few.
Dr. Parsons is a nationally and internationally recognized physician-scientist, with his leadership extending beyond our institution through service on the NIH Pediatric Early Phase Clinical Trials Network Steering Committee and the National Cancer Institute Board of Scientific Counselors, among other national roles.
Over the past year, Dr. Parsons has demonstrated steady, engaged leadership and a clear strategic vision, guiding the division through a period of transition while advancing excellence in clinical care, research, and education. He will play a key role in ongoing collaboration with the Kinder Children’s Cancer Center.
