“Pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Megan Kruse as the Director of Breast Medical Oncology and Co-Leader of the Breast Cancer Program at Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Kruse received her MD from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She subsequently completed her Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic, where she served as Chief Fellow, and she joined the medical staff in 2017.

Dr. Kruse has held several key leadership roles within our institution, including Associate Program Director of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program from 2020 to 2024 and Director of Breast Cancer Clinical Research beginning in 2024. In July 2025, she was promoted to Medical Director of the Taussig Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office.

Her primary area of clinical and translational investigation is the optimization of care for patients with lobular breast cancer. She developed the Comprehensive Lobular Breast Cancer Program at Cleveland Clinic, which includes a dedicated invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) clinical care pathway, an integrated research program, and a philanthropy fund supporting ILC-focused initiatives.

Dr. Kruse is nationally recognized for her contributions to breast cancer research and education. She serves as an Associate Editor for ASCO Daily News and is an active member of the NRG ONCOLOGY Breast Cancer Core Committee, Translational Research Committee, and Developmental Therapeutics Committee. She also serves on the Core Research Committee of the NSABP Foundation and the Scientific Advisory Board of the Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance.

Dr. Kruse is an exceptional clinician, investigator, and leader. We are confident that she will continue to advance excellence in patient care, research, and education in her new role.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Kruse on this well-deserved appointment.”
