Jame Abraham Announces Marcelo Pasquini as New Director of the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program at Cleveland Clinic

Jame Abraham, Chairman and Professor at the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Cleveland Clinic, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Marcelo Pasquini as the new Director of our Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program. Dr. Pasquini brings over 20 years of experience from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he has excelled as a clinician and scientific leader in the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research CIBMTR (Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research)

Dr. Pasquini is recognized nationally and internationally as a clinical investigator and is a sought-after speaker at scientific meetings worldwide. During his time in Milwaukee, he served as the scientific director for several CIBMTR (Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research) working committees, leading numerous registry-based studies published in high-impact journals. He has also been the principal investigator on the Cellular Immunotherapy Data Resource (CIDR) grant and currently serves as co-principal investigator on the CIBMTR infrastructure grant, focusing on the Adoptive Cell Therapy agenda.

Additionally, Dr. Pasquini is an investigator on the Data Coordinating Center grant of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN), where he has played a key role as protocol officer for practice-changing national protocols. He also serves as the scientific director for the BMT CTN Myeloma Intergroup Committee.

Dr. Pasquini earned his medical degree from the State University of Londrina in Brazil and completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami. He furthered his training with a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Utah and a fellowship in Medicine, Neoplastic Diseases, and Related Disorders at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he also obtained his MS in Epidemiology.”
