Wendy Margolin: Reversing the side effects of immunotherapy cancer treatment
Wendy Margolin, CEO of Sparkr Marketing, LLC, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Once in a while I hear about one of our articles out in the wild, directly supporting healthcare.
Those stars aligned recently when my high school sent me a link to my article posted in a immunotherapy Facebook group.
Cancer patients get used to dealing with pain, knowing that the treatment is fighting the cancer. But, debilitating pain that makes continuing immunotherapy intolerable must be addressed.
Thanks to the work Alexa Meara’s doing at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, more patients are able to continue immunotherapy treatment and regain their quality of life.
This kind of multi-disciplinary care is new. We wrote about it with hope it would help spread the word.
To hear that it actually is reaching patients who need more support is the best part of this job.”
Foundation for Autoimmune Cancer Support shared this post, adding:
“Cancer is becoming a chronic disease by manipulating the immune system.
Doctors like Alexa Meara, Pauline Funchain, and Afreen Shariff are working together with peers from more than 25 of the top cancer centers in the US to ensure treatment coordination and caregiver education to help patients stay on their oncology treatments while managing their symptoms and improving patient quality of life.
