Vincent Rajkumar on Strengthening Career Pathways in Academic Oncology
Vincent Rajkumar, Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, shared a post on X about a paper by Eric P. Winer et al. published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology:
“Many cancer doctors are leaving academic medical centers and moving to Pharma, admin jobs, or just retiring early. This jeopardizes finding new treatments for cancer, and affects patients.”
Gary R. Petersen, Editor at Myeloma Survival, shared this post, adding:
“The myeloma patients need MORE myeloma specialists. This is insanity! Myeloma Specialists do not grow on trees, and each loss like Dr. Hari, Dr. Palumbo etc. to private pharma companies is a travesty.”
