Let’s stand together for children’s mental health – SIOP Europe
SIOP Europe posted the following on LinkedIn:
“Following up on our previous message…
On Mental Health Day, we recognize the emotional resilience of children battling cancer and their families. In pediatric oncology, mental health is just as crucial as physical treatment.
The Psychosocial Standards of Care in pediatric oncology emphasize the need for comprehensive mental health and emotional support throughout the cancer journey, including long-term care for survivors. These standards ensure that children receive the psychological, social, and emotional care they need from diagnosis through survivorship.
By implementing them, we ensure that children receive not only medical care but also the psychological, social, and emotional support they need to cope with fear, anxiety, and uncertainty that a cancer diagnosis brings.
Let’s stand together to make mental well-being a priority in every child’s cancer care!”
