“Medicaid Cancer Foundation and Johnson & Johnson partner with NHIA to drive prostate cancer awareness and screening.
Medicaid Cancer Foundation (MCF), in partnership with Johnson & Johnson, organized a life-saving prostate cancer awareness and screening session for the amazing team at the National Health Insurance Authority of Nigeria (NHIA) in Abuja!
Prostate cancer is one of the leading cancers affecting men in Nigeria, but early detection can save lives. This impactful event combined education, free screenings, and consultations to help NHIA staff take proactive steps toward their health.
Here’s how we made a difference:
- NHIA staff were screened with free PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) tests.
- Participants were educated about prostate cancer symptoms, risks, and the importance of early detection.
- Few participants showed elevated PSA levels, highlighting the need for timely medical follow-ups.
Why NHIA?
As the agency responsible for managing health insurance in Nigeria, NHIA plays a HUGE role in ensuring accessible healthcare for everyone. This partnership is a step forward in advocating for the inclusion of routine cancer screenings and treatment in health insurance packages, making preventive healthcare affordable for all Nigerians.
A Shared Vision:
‘Our collaboration with Johnson & Johnson and NHIA reflects a shared vision to reduce the cancer burden in Nigeria. Through early detection and affordable healthcare coverage, we can save lives and provide hope for countless families.’ – Medicaid Cancer Foundation
We’re proud to stand at the forefront of cancer advocacy and prevention. Together, we can ensure that early detection becomes the norm and that every Nigerian has access to life-saving cancer care.
