Paula D. Bos received the Distinguished Scientist award at AACI/CCAF Annual Meeting
Rob Winn, Director and Lipman Chair in Oncology at VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Dr. Paula D. Bos is driving the cancer treatment community forward with her breast cancer research.
I was honored to present her with the Distinguished Scientist award at today’s AACI (Association of American Cancer Institutes)/CCAF Annual Meeting. Her groundbreaking research on tumor-promoting mechanisms by regulatory Treg cells could lead to new adoptive transfer therapeutics for breast cancer.
Congratulations!”
Paula D. Bos is an Associate Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and Co-Leader of the Cancer Biology Program at VCU Massey Cancer Center. Her research focuses on understanding tumor-stromal interactions that promote tumor progression and metastasis, with a particular emphasis on the role of regulatory T cells within the tumor microenvironment in breast cancer models resistant to immunotherapy. Before joining VCU, she was a Research Associate at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Alexander Rudensky’s lab, where she studied Treg ablation-mediated anti-tumor activity. She earned her PhD at Weill Cornell Medical College-Sloan Kettering Institute under Joan Massagué, researching organ-specific breast cancer metastasis.
Robert A. Winn, M.D., is the Director and Lipman Chair in Oncology at VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and a professor at VCU School of Medicine.
