Quoting Connective Tissue Oncology Society’s post:
“New opportunity for Trainees and Junior Faculty of CTOS:
It is our pleasure to announce the launch of a new initiative, the Young Investigator Group (YIG)!
- YIG is going to be a platform in which young investigators could ask the group clinical and professional questions, which in turn, would foster idea generation and novel projects.
- Aim of YIG is to promote multidisciplinary and cross-country relationships at an early phase of an individual’s professional journey
- We are looking for trainees of any level with an interest in sarcoma (medical students through fellows and graduate and post-graduate students) and junior faculty through their first 5-7 years of their first faculty position (post-fellowship)
- A 6-8 member advisory board (YIG-Ab) will oversee the YIG and present to the Mentorship Committee
- The YIG-Ab will be multidisciplinary, with at least one representative from each field, including medical oncology, pediatric oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, orthopedic surgery, pathology, and basic/translational researchers
- The YIG-Ab would be responsible for coordinating more formal quarterly events (e.g., topics including CV and resume building, clinical trial development and implementation, job promotions and talks, oral and poster presentations, etc.)
We think that this is an excellent initiative that can help foster collaboration amongst and support professional career development of the young investigators (trainees and junior faculty) of CTOS.
If you are interested in joining the group, please send your application to [email protected].”
