Domitille de La Gorce: Greetings from Ghana

Domitille de La Gorce, Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships at World Child Cancer, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Greetings from Ghana!

I arrived in Accra a few days ago, and it has been truly heartwarming to witness the deep commitment and compassion of everyone gathered here to support children with cancer — from parents and healthcare professionals to universities, the Ministry of Health, World Child Cancer, and Amgen.

The courage and resilience of the children, their families, and the dedicated healthcare teams in the face of immense challenges is nothing short of inspiring. Ghana is also setting a powerful example in its efforts to strengthen Universal Health Coverage.

While major progress has been made, significant challenges remain. In this context, Amgen’s expertise and major five-year commitment to provide holistic support to children with cancer has been a lifeline for so many children and is helping to create the foundations for a sustainable paediatric cancer care system.

We are truly grateful to Sean Lybrand, Philip Anderson, Ponda Motsepe-Ditshego, and Carica Enslin, from Amgen for their transformative impact. As a token of appreciation, our play therapists, Augusta Asiedu-Lartey and Bernice Ali, presented them with a beautiful artwork created by the children, with a symbol representing hope and inspiration.

We are deeply grateful for the hope that Amgen brings to so many children and to all those who care for them. Thank you!”
