Christian Ntizimira: Art meets health care in Rwanda
Christian Ntizimira, Executive Director of ACREOL, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Art meets health care in Rwanda.
We’re excited to share a groundbreaking initiative: Palliative Care Through Art – a first-of-its-kind event in Rwanda.
ACREOL and Rwanda Arts Initiative (RAI) have joined forces to host a 2-day meeting, bringing together diverse stakeholders to explore this innovative approach.
Our goal?
To make palliative care more accessible by translating it into the local language.
Highlights:
- Cultural relevance: Bridging health care and Rwandan art.
- Innovation: Using creativity to enhance palliative care.
- Collaboration: Uniting health care and arts professionals.
We were honored to hear from Dorcy Rugamba, a renowned Rwandan artist, writer, and poet who shared valuable insights on the crucial intersection of art and health.
This unique project aims to transform how we approach palliative care in Rwanda.
Art can play a powerful role in healing and comfort.
Together, we can improve palliative care for all Rwandans.”
