Arif Kamal: Palliative Care for Patients with Cancer acknowledges a truth
Arif Kamal shared following post on Linkedin:
”The recent publication of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)‘s Guideline: Palliative Care for Patients with Cancer acknowledges a truth.
This truth reflects a coaching question I ask my team members, which is:
‘What more information do you need to make a decision?’
For palliative care, I’m not sure we need more information.
We have over 20 clinical trials or large studies that establish integration into usual oncology care as standard of care. So to move from ‘nice to have’ to ‘must have’, we have partnered with Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) in the Enhancing Palliative Care in Oncology program to support oncology practices.
Benefits include: training and resources needed to support palliative care program development, one year of CAPC membership including CE courses, exclusive offerings facilitated by ACS and CAPC, and more. All for free!
