Anna Bruynzeel, Radiation Oncologist at Amsterdam UMC, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Recap of a successful year with MRIgRT at Amsterdam UMC.
Together with our fantastic MRIdian team, a reflection on some of highlights of 2024:
- 10,000th Online Adaptive Fraction Delivered!
- In June, this remarkable milestone was reached on the MRIdian platform.
- Increase in Referrals for MRIgRT Treatments
- An increasing number of patients are being referred for MRIgRT, reflecting growing recognition of the impact of MRIgRT in radiation oncology.
- Launch of Four New Studies
Thanks to KWF funding, four studies were initiated:
- STRONG II – For patients with perihilar cholangiocarcinoma
- LAPSTAR – Focused on locally advanced pancreatic cancer
- PREOPANC-5 – For borderline pancreatic cancer patients
- ABLATIVE II – single ablative dose preoperative PBI in breast cancer patients
RTT-Only Treatments
This year, our radiotherapists independently treated prostate and hashtag#pancreaticcancer patients—a significant step in expanding their expertise and impact on patient care.
Improved Outcomes for Prostate Patients.
Using MRIgRT in just 5 fractions, we treated prostate cancer patients with reduced toxicity, achieving excellent outcomes with an average treatment time of only 25 minutes per session.
Innovative Care: Single-Day Plan-and-Treat.
We successfully treated kidney and lung cancer patients with a ‘single-day plan-and-treat’ process, enhancing efficiency and providing faster care for patients.
Thanks to Our Patients and Referrers for their confidence in us.”
