Access to medicine is a human right – The Max Foundation
The Max Foundation shared on LinkedIn:
“For a decade, Judy struggled seeking medical treatment and financial aid for her chronic myeloid leukemia.
Despite treatment, her health didn’t improve, and the cost strained her family’s budget. Depression crept in as Judy isolated herself from loved ones, dreading their sympathy. She also feared for her own mortality.
However, after switching to a new medication, her health improved significantly. Now at age 71, she no longer worries about treatment access.
Judy’s cancer journey is a stark reminder that a cancer diagnosis, especially for the most vulnerable populations, represents a humanitarian crisis for that patient and their family.
Access to medicine is a human right.
We’re very grateful for the support of donors and partners who’ve enabled us to serve over 100,000 people globally for the last 26 years.”
