Sean Lybrand: Pleased to continue Amgen’s collaboration with Resolve Global Health

Sean Lybrand, Executive Director at Amgen, shared a post by Resolve Global Health on LinkedIn, adding the following:

“We are very pleased to continue Amgen’s collaboration with Resolve Global Health and look forward to the series of special reports we have planned with the team.

In the work we are undertaking within the Access to Healthcare team, we are taking long-term interests in health in low- and middle-income countries, with a focus on health systems strengthening at the core. It makes sense to also undertake deeper reviews of issues that are impacting the communities in which we work, and one of our key focus areas is childhood cancer.

The special report series on childhood cancer will complement our support of World Child Cancer and our joint session at the World Cancer Congress on 17 September in Geneva – Bridging the Gap: Understanding and addressing childhood cancer disparities between high-income and low-income countries.”

Quoting Resolve Global Health’s post:

“We’re thrilled to announce our new collaboration with Amgen!

Amgen has been involved in Re:solve since our early days and with our shared mission to advance global health, we’re excited to combine our expertise to help highlight important topics.

Amgen will be supporting Re:solve in producing four Special Re:ports. The first report will focus on the crucial issue of addressing disparities in childhood cancer. Every day, over 1,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer. Survival rates vary dramatically based on location, with over 80% in high-income countries compared to less than 20% in many low-income countries. These disparities are also evident within countries, affected by factors such as race and income.

Our goal is to uncover insights that will lead to meaningful progress in addressing this critical issue. Is there anything specific you’d like us to cover? Let us know in the comments.”
