St. Baldrick’s Foundation – Because of research, Luke and his family can experience graduation season
St. Baldrick’s Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Reseach Is Hope and because of research, Luke and his family can experience graduation season!
Luke was diagnosed with stage 4 embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma 5 days after his third birthday. His 54-week treatment protocol, including chemo and radiation, lasted almost 70 weeks due to delays caused by bacterial infections and low counts.
Today, he’s 18 years old, just graduated high school, and will be working towards his degree in chemistry in the fall at Michigan State University. His mom shares, ‘While Luke will always deal with some long-term effects from treatment, overall, he is doing well. We are so proud of his tenacity, determination, and hard work and excited for his next chapter.’
To Luke and all the recent grads out there, congratulations! ”
