Wafik S. El-Deiry: Very grateful to the ACS for supporting cancer research in Rhode Island

Wafik S. El-Deiry shared a post on LinkedIn:

“We enjoyed hosting the American Cancer Society Delegation at the Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University, including Christina Annunziata, Ryan Timothy Strik, Bill Sherman, Paul Hull, Courtney Needham, PharmD, and Marc Hymovitz from the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN).

We had meetings with our senior leaders, students, and other trainees, and we heard from the inaugural group of ACS-IRG awardees at Brown University: Deepraj Ghosh, Ying Ma, and Theresa Raimondo. We toured some lab facilities and had lunch before the delegation headed out to the Rhode Island Statehouse. There were great questions asked and information exchanged, including with trainees looking for career development, volunteer opportunities, and advocacy roles.

We are very grateful to the ACS for supporting cancer research in Rhode Island and for patient advocacy.”
