“In a recent article from The New York Times, BCRF Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Dorraya El-Ashry weighed in on supplementary breast cancer screening recommendations for older women.
While mammograms are considered the gold standard in breast cancer screening, they are not perfect and certain patients, especially those with dense breasts, may require secondary screening like ultrasounds or MRIs that are may not be covered by Medicare.”
