Maximilian Merz: Smells like team spirit
Maximilian Merz,
University, shared a post on LinkedIn:“Smells like team spirit*
I am super proud to see our work on single-cell multiomics in anti-BCMA CAR T-cells for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma being published in Nature Cancer!
This was a great effort from a multi-disciplinary team of researchers from the Leipzig University, ICCAS – Innovation Center Computer Assisted Surgery and Fraunhofer IZI. Together with our friends from Singleron Biotechnologies we were able to demonstrate that patients who show sub-optimal response to anti-BCMA CAR T-cells can be identified at apheresis and show distinct changes in the CAR T and non-CAR T-cell compartment after infusion.
Special thanks to:
– our bioinformagicians Nora Grieb, Michael Rade and their supervisor Kristin Reiche
– my partner in crime, GMP wizard Vladan Vucinic
– Ulrike Köhl and Uwe Platzbecker for supporting this project from the very early beginnings
– International Myeloma Society and Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation, The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson, SpringWorks Therapeutics, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) – German Research Foundation for the financial support!
This work built the foundation for our recently approved CERTAINTY EU HORIZON project. We will use our single-cell multiomic platform to build virtual twins for improved CAR T-cell manufacturing and application.
Stay tuned!
