“I’m proud to share that AstraZeneca was named one of the winners of Bio-IT World’s Innovative Practices Awards at Bio-IT Expo in Boston this week.
The journey to winning this award is the result of incredible collaboration between the AstraZeneca and Tempus teams exploring how the combination of AI and multimodal data can help with increasing the probability of success of drug development programs. The ultimate goal is to create efficiencies in the R and D process to bring medicines to patients faster, and address the greatest areas of unmet need that still exist. We’ve leveraged our respective expertise, a shared vision and a dedication to excellence in innovation to deliver this piece of work.
Our now award-winning solution was to co-design a three-step framework that systematically deploys AI and multimodal data at scale, to inform decision-making and help accelerate and de-risk key clinical development programs. The results from the pilot study were clear and, what’s more, paved the way for this approach to be part of AstraZeneca’s clinical trial design and decision-making process.
I truly believe that real world data can assist us in generating a more holistic view and ultimately, provide more confidence in our decision-making as we bring forward medicines offering the potential to help patients live longer and healthier lives.
A huge thank you to our partners at Tempus for the nomination – and to the awards committee for this recognition. Many congratulations to all those involved in this project.”
