Dr. Idalid “Ivy” Franco is a Radiation Oncologist and inaugural Director of Equity, Access, and Inclusion for the Department of Radiation Oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Harvard Medical School. She is a national leader and innovator in the DEI space, creating multiple initiatives that have increased awareness on the important role of diversity, equity, and inclusion within radiation oncology. Her passion and drive toward creating impactful and sustainable solutions are driven by her early experiences as a first-generation Mexican-American immigrant growing up in an underserved community. Dr. Franco is excited to expand this work outside of the radiation oncology community and empower future collaborations focused on addressing the impact of the social determinants of health on racial and ethnic disparities, designing cost-effective care delivery, and improving workforce diversity.
