Investigators Reveal That Gene Mutations in T-Cell ALL Have Ancestry-Specific Prognostic Impacts – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital shared a post on X:

“Investigators at St. Jude, CHOP, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Children’s Oncology Group reveal that the same gene mutations in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia had different prognostic impacts depending on genetic ancestry.

80% of patients in COG’s clinical trial had mutations where prognostic significance varied by ancestry. The results of the study, part of the St. Jude led Chromatin Collaborative, stress the need for equitable implementation of genomic biomarkers to improve pediatric cancer care.”
