National Cancer Institute of Kenya Raises Awareness on Melanoma Risks and Early Detection

National Cancer Institute of Kenya shared on X:

Melanoma is a serious type of skin cancer that develops in the melanocytes, the cells that produce the pigment melanin. It often starts as a new or changing mole and can appear anywhere on the body, especially in areas exposed to the sun.
Melanoma is less common than other skin cancers but more dangerous because it can spread quickly to other parts of the body if not detected early. Prompt diagnosis and treatment greatly improve the chances of recovery.”
