“Please repost and share widely! This training series begins this week!
REGISTER NOW for our upcoming American Psychological Association Population-Health Training Series on Grief Informed Care.
Whether your join us live or through the recorded workshops, this series will provide you with foundational education in grief and bereavement to help you in clinical practice, research, or as educator.
It still blows my mind that we mental health providers are not trained in grief and bereavement as part of our standard graduate education. Yet every one of us will eventually work with someone coping with a significant loss.
Our mission at the Center for the Advancement of Bereavement Care at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is to address this gap in training, and are so we are thrilled to team up with the legendary global grief expert Dr. Bob Neimeyer with the Portland Institute for Loss and Transition as well as the fabulous Kailey Roberts and Dr. Evgenia (Jane) Milman to advance training for our colleagues through the American Psychological Association.
This series will include three 3-hour workshops throughout May, mental health awareness month.
- May 8, 2025 – Part I: Phenomenology and Contemporary Perspectives on Grief.
- May 15, 2025 – Part II: Bereavement-Related Mental Health Challenges and Assessment.
- May 22, 2025 – Part III: Evidence-Based and Evidence-Informed Grief Intervention Approaches.

Quote Adrian Pogacian‘s post:
