“This week we have a great pleasure of hearing about how one of our PhD students, Anna (Kira) Kirsanova, spends her free time outside the lab.
“For me, variety and balance go hand in hand – each fuels the other and keeps life exciting. Chemistry might be my passion, but outside the lab, I find energy and inspiration in music and culture. Rock concerts are my best escape – I love the raw energy, the crowd, and the way music can recharge my mind. On the flip side, I also have a deep appreciation for the elegance and storytelling of Chinese opera. It’s a completely different world, but one that fascinates me just as much.
And then I have another hobby – growing hot peppers! Caring for them, watching them grow reminds me that patience and care always pay off – whether in research or in life.”
