“Reflecting on a Memorable Year of Wonderful Interactions with Friends and Colleagues in Providence and at Brown University.

I’m thrilled to celebrate my one-year anniversary at Brown University following a remarkable tenure at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. This year has been a journey of growth and collaboration. Notably working under the leadership of esteemed Cancer Center Director Wafik S. El-Deiry, and regularly consulting with my postdoc mentor, Robert Weinberg from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Whitehead Institute has been a treat.

I had the privilege of organizing several significant meetings, inviting some of the nation’s most esteemed scientists. My time here at Brown has been enriched by interactions with brilliant colleagues like Robert W. Sobol Jr., Howard Safran, Benedito A. Carneiro, Alex Raufi, Patrycja Dubielecka, Stephanie Graff, Don S. Dizon, Alper Uzun, Ece Uzun, Liang Cheng, Sean Lawler, Roxanne Wood, Michelle R Dawson, Rishi Lulla, Ziya Gokaslan, Nikos Tapinos, Hina Khan, Cailie Burns, Neil Sarkar, Paul DiSilvestro, Jeremy Warner Werner, Shiyoko Cothren, and many more.

Working alongside our exceptional Dean, Mukesh Jain, has been a highlight. I was also fortunate to meet John Tarantino,. John not only became my good friend but also the CEO of Iylon Precision Oncology, the company Sewanti Limaye, and I co-founded. I am also fortunate to meet with some other amazing people including, Barbara Pappito, Claude Arnell Milhouse, Gregory Mercurio Jr, Richard Staples Jr, and many others.

I am fortunate to have recruited some stellar students and trainees, including Petra den Hollander, Nick Kuburich, Thiru Sabapathy, Breanna Demestichas, Joanna Joyce M., Claire Gould, Shrey Mehta, Bilal Ali, Kitti Banga, Orly R., Julia Kiselka, Ege Gungor Onal and few others.

I look forward to working with my amazing colleagues at the Legorreta Cancer Center at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University toward our mission of ‘Making the world cancer-free’.”
