Thousands of Women are unaware they have Dense breasts because that information is not shared with them. Clear mammogram results letters state Mammograms are clear with no evidence of Cancer found.
The ‘Best Kept Secret’ is Breast Density.
When I was Diagnosed with Stage 3c Invasive Breast Cancer 6 months after a Clear Mammogram Result, I didn’t know I had Dense Breasts because I had never been told. 155,916 Irish women chose to attend their Breast Cancer Screening Appointment in 2022 Statistically 43% of them will have had Dense breasts (like me). That’s 67,438 ‘Best Kept Secrets’ in 2022
Breast Cancer is missed in Dense Breasts. No Woman should have to wait until after a Breast Cancer Diagnosis to find out that she has Dense Breasts.”
