Aakash Desai: Excited for the IMPACT-NSCLC study presented at ASCO Quality Care Symposium

Aakash Desai, Assistant Professor, UAB O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared a post by Shashi Shankar, Co-Founder & CEO, Novellia, on LinkedIn:

“It has been great to work with Novellia and Shashi Shankar’s team and we are excited for the IMPACT-NSCLC study which was presented American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Quality Care Symposium by Muzammil Dastagir along with the team UAB O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center!

Biomarker testing and precision oncology are pivotal in treatment of lung cancer and many other solid tumors!”

Quoting Shashi Shankar:

“Surreal.

I “grew up” going to ASCO and ASCO Quality at Genentech, where I’d watch in awe as titans of oncology presented groundbreaking research. Extremely proud to celebrate Novellia’s first publication and getting the chance to share the same stage as the rockstars I’ve long admired.

Deeply grateful to our brilliant partners: the University of Alabama at Birmingham (especially our PI Aakash Desai, MD, MPH + Muzammil Dastagir and Gabrielle Rocque) and Daiichi Sankyo US (John Ruggiero, PhD, MPA, BCS, M. Tery Bishay, PharmD, RPh). Truly honored to have presented research at ASCOQLTY24 on how Novellia’s personal health record platform is helping oncologists at the community level address lung cancer biomarker testing disparities to improve outcomes for patients.

This study is just the beginning – a small contribution to the monumental work being done in oncology. And it’s powerful scientific validation of our innovative, and unique, model of data innovation that puts patients squarely at the center of their healthcare stories and builds partnerships with researchers across the industry.

To everyone at ASCO and those working daily to save and change lives: here’s to the journey ahead, and to improving patients’ lives, one data point at a time.”
