Disparities in healthcare access and quality in oncology care – European Cancer Organisation
European Cancer Organisation shared:
“Disparities in healthcare access and quality are among the most critical and urgent issues in oncology care, in Eastern Europe as well as beyond, leading to differences in treatment outcomes and care for patients.
ECO, its membership and its HPV and Hep B Action Network have been working tirelessly to support national policymakers and patient organisations in the region in their efforts to achieve concrete solutions and improve prevention and screening in cancer care.
To this end, today our CEO Mike Morrissey met with the President of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Zoran Milanovic, opening jointly an exciting two-day Regional Patient Meeting in Zagreb.
Organised and promoted by a collective of patient organisation from Central and Eastern Europe advocating for the rights of cancer patients, today’s event will also introduce the Zagreb Declaration. This landmark document highlights solutions such as investments in health literacy and awareness, implementation of comprehensive screening programmes and patient-centred approaches.
