“And that’s a wrap! Cheers from your planning committee for the 2023 Workshop on Assessing and Advancing Progress in the Delivery of High-Quality Cancer Care, co-hosted by ASCO and the National Cancer Policy Forum!
It’s the 10-year anniversary of the 2013 landmark IOM consensus report on Delivering High-Quality Cancer Care: Charting a New Course for a System in Crisis.

Grateful for ASCO and the National Academies NCPF’s leadership and for our remarkable oncology and healthcare community for sharing their expertise — especially Drs. Julie Gralow, Rob Winn, Patty Ganz, Lori Pierce, Laura Levit, Robin Zon, Robin Yabroff, Chris Friese, Justin List, Kathi Mooney, Julia Rowland, Nathan A. Pennell, Laurel Pracht, Gwen Darien, Heidi Klepin, Paul Kluetz, Cardinale B. Smith, Shelley Fuld Nasso, Fumiko Ladd Chino, Narjust Florez, Karen Winkfield, Larissa Nekhlyudov, Carolyn Hendricks, Justin Bekelman, Patty Spears, Sarah Greene, Edmondo Robinson, Beverly Canin, Vishal Bhatnagar, Rebecca Siegel, Kameron Matthews, Robert Miller, Lisa Richardson, Kate Rendle, Alex A. – Look out for the workshop recordings and proceedings in the coming weeks!

‘BE BOLD’ was the charge given to us by workshop chair and cancer care legend Dr. Patty Ganz! And let me tell you – Chris Friese, Shelley Fuld Nasso, Robin Zon and Larissa Nekhlyudov understood the assignment!

If culture starts at the top, then our cancer care leaders, Julie Gralow, Rob Winn boldly kicked off the workshop and Laura Levit’s presentation of the oncology workforce data launched our panel with Fumiko Ladd Chino, Lori Pierce, Heidi Klepin!
This data is meticulously curated by our amazing ASCO team especially Kelsey Kirkwood, Caroline Schenkel, and Laura Levit.

THANK YOU, Erin Balogh, Sharyl Nass, Chidinma Chukwurah, Jennifer Zhu, Anna Adler, and National Academies team!
Leaving these two days of discussions and future planning, energized from having recalibrated to my North Stars — innovative cancer care, that is (1) accessible to all persons with cancer and (2) delivered by a thriving team of oncology clinicians and researchers!

Stay tuned for the next steps and our Priorities for Action!”
