Danielle Fragalla: Going Gold and honoring the extraordinary courage and resilience of pediatric cancer patients
Danielle Fragalla, CEO at Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
“September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation calls on you to help propel life-saving research forward. We challenge you to join us in ‘Going Gold’ this month, honoring the extraordinary courage and resilience of pediatric cancer patients.
The Gold Awareness Ribbon stands as a powerful symbol of the strength these children possess, driving our mission to advance cures, improve survival rates, and develop less toxic treatments. The statistics are staggering: 1 in every 285 American children will be diagnosed with cancer before age 20, and worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes.
We understand that supporting pediatric cancer research transcends a single donation or awareness month. We are deeply grateful to our partners who are leveraging their platforms to make a significant impact for children and families affected by pediatric cancer. We encourage you to join them in going gold and participating in your own way to help us raise awareness and advance this critical work.
We are also dedicated to amplifying the voices of pediatric cancer patients and survivors. Despite receiving only 4% of the Federal Government’s cancer research budget, investing in pediatric cancer research is essential because children are 100% of our future.
We invite you to share your ‘Going Gold’ moments on social media, and continue to support us this month and beyond as we work diligently to ensure that all children facing childhood cancer have the chance to beat their disease and reach their full potential. Together, we can spark innovation and transform the lives of hundreds of thousands of children!”
