Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu: Spotlighting AORTIC at ASCO
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Grateful for the incredible experience at the AORTIC-ASCO 2024 Networking Reception! Heartfelt thanks to Miriam Mutebi, Abiola Ibraheem and their colleague’s team for organizing this important meeting.
The gathering showcased the capacity, strength, and innovation, in the African cancer space, particularly in research and clinical trials. There is significant progress in the collective goal of eliminating global cancer disparity.
Much remarkable work is coming from the African Cancer Research Group for Oncology – a partnership between the University of Ife and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, led by Olusegun Alatise and Peter Kingham. This collaboration has given many early researchers a platform and funding to thrive.
As a longstanding member of AORTIC- Africa, who has voiced concern about the impact of the organization in recent years, I am pleased to see it is taking its place as a leader and indeed the link between Africa and the rest of the world.
Congratulations again and I look forward to continued collaborations and progress in the fight, united against cancer.”
