“Visit to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital – Accra, Ghana
Pleased to be welcomed to Ghana at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital by Professor Lorna Renner, and kindly hosted by our collaborating partners World Child Cancer. Professor Renner gave us an overview of treatment and management at Korle Bu, one of the major paediatric cancer treatment centres here in Ghana.
World Child Cancer has been supporting Korle Bu by implementing a comprehensive program of support for childhood cancer, including child play therapy, support for treatment including medicines, transport, scholarship for survivors, family support and navigation, nutrition care, continuing education, preservice and in service training for HCPs, as well as general CC awareness training.
Also, to return the favor, welcoming Prof Renner in advance to Switzerland in September for the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) World Cancer Congress, who will present at World Child Cancer’s hosted conference session on childhood cancer, which Amgen is pleased to support.
