Jeremy Slone: I was honored to address delegates of the Medical Society of Papua New Guinea Annual Symposium on prioritizing childhood cancer in national cancer control planning.
Jeremy Slone, Associate Member at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:
“Nearly 18 years after a life-changing medical student elective in Papua New Guinea, I had an opportunity to return as part of an incredible team for an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) imPACT mission in partnership with the World Health Organization, IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
We engaged with colleagues focused on cancer, visited key locations, and discussed national cancer control priorities. I was honored to address delegates of the Medical Society of Papua New Guinea Annual Symposium on prioritizing childhood cancer in national cancer control planning. Our in-country mission concluded with a visit with the Minister of Health, the Honorable Dr. Lino Tom, MP, but the work continues.”
