Zouina Sarfraz, Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Oncology at the Miami Cancer Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Attending ASCO26 for the second time feels especially meaningful!
This year, I had the privilege of contributing to 17 projects presented at ASCO 2026 and serving as the presenting author on two abstracts:
- Who Gets Access? National Discrepancies in Clinical Trial Enrollment Among Patients With Brain Metastases
- Phase I Trial of Trastuzumab Deruxtecan in Combination With Stereotactic Radiosurgery for Brain Metastases From HER2-Positive Breast Cancer
Above all, I want to thank my mentor and PI, Dr. Manmeet Ahluwalia. Your guidance, support, and commitment to fostering the next generation of investigators have shaped my growth as a researcher in countless ways. None of this would have been possible without your mentorship.
I am also incredibly grateful to my collaborators and colleagues, including Azza Sarfraz, Fatma Nihan Akkoç Mustafayev, Khalid Qidwai, Namita Ruhela, Ruchit Jain, Lydia Hodgson, and many others whose teamwork made these projects possible.
A special thank you to our outstanding research management team—Laura Horna, Valerie Bethel, and Candice Schottenloher. The work we do would not be possible without your dedication, organization, and unwavering support behind the scenes!
Grateful for every opportunity to learn, collaborate, and contribute. Looking forward to continuing this journey next year with such an inspiring team.”
