“Every year, an estimated 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer.
Many of these come from LMICs and regions of conflict.
On October 10, I joined donors, advocates and friends at a fundraising gala organised by Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) UK at The Peninsula London hosted and auctioned by Tim Stansbury in support of children receiving cancer treatment in Lebanon.
It was a pleasure seeing Dr Ayoade Alakija, Ali and Rima Shour and many other stakeholders.
Every ticket purchased, auction bid and donation was an opportunity to support a child’s treatment and give families renewed hope during an incredibly difficult time.
We have a lot to learn about fundraising from the team at CCCL and I commend my colleague and friend, Hana Chaar Choueib, Director of CCCL, the organising committee, sponsors and everyone who contributed to making the evening a success.
