Zach Lewis: Running the New York City Marathon in Honor of Zach Jones

Zach Lewis, Senior Financial Analyst – Affiliate Revenue at The Walt Disney Company, shared on LinkedIn:

“26.2 Miles for a Reason…

This November, I’ll be running the New York City Marathon – a new challenge for me and one of the biggest physical challenges I’ve ever taken on.

But this marathon is about much more than running.

I’ll be running in honor of Zach Jones, who was my first manager when I landed a research position at ESPN.

Nearly two years ago, Zach passed away after being diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer.

He was just 41 years old.

ZJ was more than a manager who helped me learn the business – he was someone I was incredibly fortunate to call a friend.

I’ll always be grateful for the time I spent working alongside him and for everything he taught me along the way.

When I decided to take on this new challenge, I knew I wanted it to be connected to something bigger than myself. I’ll be running to support the V Foundation and help raise money for cancer research.

Training for 26.2 miles is never easy, but knowing who I’m running for will give every long run, early morning and difficult mile a little more meaning.

If you’re willing and able, I’d be incredibly grateful for your support.

Any donation, no matter the size, can make a difference in the fight against cancer.
