“Honored and delighted!
Nature Biomedical Engineering has published a wonderful News and Views by Maria Kalli and Triantafyllos Stylianopoulos (University of Cyprus) highlighting our recent study on overcoming CAR-T resistance in solid tumors.
We’re deeply grateful to Dr. Kalli and Prof. Stylianopoulos for their generous and insightful commentary. They beautifully capture the heart of our work, that soft matrix environments drive an ATP–calcium axis that pushes cancer cells into stem-like, immunotherapy-resistant states, and that this very mechanosensing can be rewired into a synthetic ‘kill me’ signal to make those elusive cells targetable by CAR-T. Their framing of it as a step toward ‘mechanically informed precision oncology‘ means a great deal to us.
Huge congratulations again to our brilliant first author Jenny (Yunjia) Qu, whose vision and leadership drove this project.”
