“On World Radiotherapy Awareness Day (WRAD), I want to celebrate the incredible radiation therapists and therapeutic radiographers around the world who make a difference to patients every day!
Radiotherapy continues to evolve at an extraordinary pace.
New technologies, new treatment techniques, artificial intelligence, adaptive radiotherapy, advanced practice roles, and changing patient expectations are transforming the profession.
To keep pace, we need more than technical expertise. We need lifelong learning, collaboration, leadership, and a strong global professional community.
That is why I am particularly excited about the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) Radiation Therapist RTT Workshop 2026.
As Chair of the ESTRO RTT Committee, I have seen first hand how these workshops help colleagues develop new skills, build international networks, share ideas, and return home inspired to improve practice!
If you are passionate about the future of radiation therapy and want to develop as a clinician, researcher, educator, or leader, I would strongly encourage you to consider applying.

One point that is worth highlighting: you do not need to attend ESTRO 2027 in person to participate in the RTT Workshop.
The workshop application is open to everyone regardless of whether they are attending the congress. Of course, it would be fantastic to see many of you in Milan, but workshop participation is not dependent on congress attendance.
