Yasir Ya’u Nuhu, Member of Conference Planning Committee at Oncology Nurses Association of Nigeria (ONAN), Assistant Secretary, Central Organizing Committee at End Cervical Cancer Nigeria Initiative (ECCNI), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“National Appointment in Cervical Cancer Control and Public Health.
I am delighted to share that I have been officially appointed as the Assistant Secretary of the Central Organizing Committee for the 2026 Stakeholders’ Summit on Cervical Cancer Elimination in Nigeria (SSCCEN), organized by the End Cervical Cancer Nigeria Initiative (ECCNI).
The summit, themed ‘From Commitment to Coverage: Accelerating Cervical Cancer Elimination in Nigeria,’ will bring together key stakeholders from government, healthcare institutions, development partners, professional associations, civil society organizations, researchers, and advocates to strengthen efforts toward eliminating cervical cancer in Nigeria.
This appointment represents another opportunity to contribute meaningfully to national discussions, strategic planning, advocacy, and action aimed at reducing the burden of cancer and improving health outcomes for our people.
This appointment adds to several milestones and opportunities I have been privileged to receive on national platforms and strategic public health programs recently:
- Appointed as a Member of the Conference Planning Committee (CPC) of the 1st ONAN National Scientific Conference.
- Appointed as a Member of the Transport and Logistics Committee of International Cancer Week 2026, organized by NICRAT and the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
- My cervical cancer research abstract was accepted for presentation at the World Cancer Congress 2026, Hong Kong.
The journey is still beginning, and the vision remains clear: to contribute meaningfully to improving health outcomes and reducing the burden of cancer across Nigeria and Africa.”
