“As I leave Singapore, I leave inspired.
ASCO Breakthrough 2026 was far more than a scientific meeting – it was a celebration of innovation, collaboration, mentorship, and our shared commitment to improving the lives of patients with cancer.
My sincere gratitude goes to the incredible leadership who made this unforgettable experience possible.
To Dr. Melvin Chua – thank you for being an exceptional host. Your warmth, vision, and leadership were evident throughout every aspect of the meeting. Singapore provided a beautiful backdrop, but it was your hospitality and dedication that made attendees from around the world feel truly welcome.
To Dr. Julie Gralow – thank you for your inspiring leadership. Your unwavering commitment to scientific excellence, global collaboration, equity in cancer care, and mentorship continues to inspire the oncology community worldwide. You lead with both purpose and compassion, setting an example for all of us.
I also want to recognize the outstanding faculty and lecturers who generously shared their expertise throughout the conference. Every session reflected not only cutting-edge science but also a genuine commitment to advancing patient care through education and collaboration.
One of the most memorable aspects of the meeting was witnessing ASCO leadership and many of the world’s leading oncology experts remain after their presentations, sit down with trainees, answer questions, and offer thoughtful career advice. Those mentorship sessions were a powerful reminder that great leaders don’t simply deliver lectures – they invest in the next generation.
To the countless ASCO staff working tirelessly behind the scenes – thank you. While attendees experience a seamless conference, it is your months of planning, coordination, and dedication that make it all possible. You are the quiet force behind an extraordinary event, and your work deserves tremendous recognition.
I am also incredibly grateful to the entire MedNews Week team for their tireless efforts covering the meeting and ensuring that the latest breakthroughs reached audiences around the world. Scientific discovery only changes lives when it is communicated effectively, and I am proud of the work our team accomplished throughout the conference.
A special thank you to Dr. Chandler Park and Dr. Antonio Loaiza-Bonilla for your mentorship, guidance, and unwavering support. Your belief in young investigators and your commitment to education continue to open doors for countless trainees, myself included.
Serving as an ASCO Voice was truly an honor. It was a privilege to help share the remarkable science presented this week while learning from so many outstanding clinicians, investigators, educators, and mentors from across the globe.
And finally, thank you, Singapore. Beyond the breathtaking skyline, vibrant culture, and incredible hospitality, this beautiful city became the setting for new friendships, meaningful conversations, and memories that will last a lifetime.”
