Lifesaving Pathways for Children With Cancer – World Child Cancer USA

World Child Cancer USA shared a post on LinkedIn:

Phoe Lone is a child in Myanmar who faced common obstacles to securing lifesaving treatment for his cancer diagnosis, but his family found a path forward through our network’s support.

Distance and cost remain two of the biggest barriers preventing children from accessing cancer treatment.

A journey to the hospital can take five hours each way and cost a significant amount for the family. Many families like Phoe Lone’s rely on loans with high interest rates, making ongoing treatment difficult to sustain.

When Phoe Lone became too weak to walk, he was referred to Yangon Children’s Hospital and diagnosed with a pyelocystic astrocytoma. Frequent hospital visits were essential, but unaffordable.

Thanks to donor support, we provided transport assistance and help with essential medicines, allowing Phoe Lone to start treatment right away.

World Child Cancer is committed to reaching more children and families facing challenges to access lifesaving care.

Give us a follow and consider a donation today.”
