Winette van der Graaf Showcases Young Talent at ESMO Sarcoma and Rare Cancers 2026

Winette van der Graaf, President of the EORTC, Professor of Medical Oncology at The Netherlands Cancer Institute, and Founding Member of Common Sense Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Delighted and grateful to ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology for the opportunity for young colleagues and PhD students to apply for merit awards. To see among this group at ESMO Sarcoma and Rare Cancers conference in Lugano 4 PhD students, and one student recently graduated to PhD, from The Netherlands Cancer Institute – is really exceptional.

Topics on HRQoL in sarcoma, rare cancers and rare toxicity and rare subtypes of GIST showcase the added value of collaborations also beyond medical oncology and truly demonstrates the added value of strong (inter)national collaborations. Many congratulations to all the award winners today and of course many thanks to our collaborators!”
