William Dale, Professor and Vice Chair for Academic Affairs at City of Hope, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Brain cancer, or glioblastomas, are devastating for patients – and terribly difficult for their intimate partners. What can be done to support couples coping with this deadly diagnosis? What psychosocial programs have evidence supporting their use?
Our Supportive Care team at City of Hope just published a meticulous review to know what is known about interventions for brain cancer patients and partners.
Unfortunately, few programs exist that can help couples. Which is why we have created such a program, with support from a special partner of a brain cancer patient, the Couples Coping Together with Brain Cancer program. Thankful to those who helped lead this work.
Soon, we will be publishing our early findings about this program. Please take a look at this paper to learn why this matters.”
